Introduction to Whispers Publishing

Exploring Our Fantasies
By Whispers Publishing

When we opened our virtual doors on February 28, 2006, we knew we were about to embark upon a great adventure. We wanted to build a boutique publisher that is known for quality, award-winning romance, as well as create a family-type atmosphere for authors.

In the past few years, we’ve seen e-publishing really take off. We’ve seen the economy fluctuate. One thing has remained consistent for Whispers Publishing—we continue to put out amazing stories with beautiful covers that readers love. Our talented authors add to our ever-growing catalog with genres beyond sensual and erotic romance, including science fiction, fantasy, paranormal and general fiction.

Our tag line is “Explore Your Fantasies.” This invitation has never seemed so fitting. A modern woman in 2012 has limitless options. Today she craves a hot read, tomorrow a romantic suspense, and we provide one-stop shopping for her. With our Interracial/Multicultural stories climbing the Whispers Publishing bestseller lists, readers have discovered that love knows no boundaries. The Interracial/Multicultural genre shows no signs of slowing down. We take pride in supplying these spicy stories to the readers who demand their share of the romance market.

Single-titles, series and anthologies are available at Whispers Publishing, and we’re always looking for seasoned authors as well as new talent. You can find out more about our submission guidelines by visiting us here: http://whispershome.com/submissions. Currently we’re putting together several anthologies with themes such as Three to Tango ménage stories and Restored African-American Love stories. Our authors and readers are very excited to sink their teeth into these new anthologies!

Whispers Publishing has had an incredible journey in the past six years. As we strive for perfection, we’ve learned some valuable lessons and continue to grow in new ways to give our authors better experiences. But our friendships with the savvy romance readers will always be our first focus.

With a brand new Goodreads book club, new contests and an exciting Christmas event—Coffee and Cream Christmas—coming up, it’s never been so exciting to Explore Your Fantasies with Whispers Publishing. Here’s to 2012!

Tour - Metamorphosis (tens list)

Ten Things That Make it Difficult to Focus on my Writing

1. GOODREADS. Sweet, sweet nectar of life. I’ve found my kryptonite and thy evil name is GoodReads. You suck the life out of me on a daily basis yet I still keep coming back for more.

2. MY SON. He’s seventeen months and very fond of electronics, and he’s been particularly fascinated with my laptop since he could crawl his way to it at ten months. I hate to say it, but some of those typos in the ARC copies may be his fault! He loves to wiggle his fingers across the keyboard just the way his momma does!

3. MY BOYFRIEND. He may travel worldwide for 95% of his time but it hasn’t stopped him from constantly being in contact. My text message count alone was > 2000 last month and I guarantee you he was at least 95% of those.  (Love you baby! I know you’re stalking me on the tour from wherever you freakin’ are in this world!) And that doesn’t include the number of minutes on the phone! LOL.

4. THAT JAR OF M&Ms ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. Mmmmmmm. Chocolate.

5. FACEBOOK. Thank God I’m not as bad as I used to be. (but only cause I’ve moved on to GoodReads).
6. THE THEME SONG TO THE WONDER PETS. Lord help me. It’s my son’s favorite show and when momma needs some quiet time to work, I have to play a few episodes. My punishment for sitting the toddler in front of the TV : I can’t get that tune out of my head!!!

7. WRITER’S BLOCK. I wouldn’t even truly say writer’s block cause I usually have most of the book planned out in my head before I start, but there are certainly times when I absolutely cannot focus. It’s something about the laptop. I just stare at the glare, like it mesmerizes me. Most of the time I have to scribble the chapter out on actual pieces of paper first.

8. THAT JAR OF M&M’S ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. I know I said it already, but it’s that addicting!

9. MY IMAGINATION. The ideas that pop into my head are never-freakin’-ending. And sure enough, the moment I get my groove on with one story, ideas start popping in, trying to tempt me away from my work!

10. WRITING THIS SEVENS LIST (AND OTHER TOUR POSTS). LOL. This is the second of three books I’m releasing in the time frame of one year. It’s soooo time-consuming. And now that I’m setting up the tour for Falling In Between myself, I completely appreciate all the hard work the gals over at The {Teen} Book Scene do for us authors! So much effort goes into each and every tour.
