One Hundred Candles
Mara Purnhagen
Released Feb 15th 2011
It's taken a long time for me to feel like a normal teenager. But now that I'm settled in a new school, where people know me as more than Charlotte Silver of the infamous Silver family paranormal investigators, it feels like everything is falling into place. And what better way to be normal than to go on a date with a popular football star like Harris Abbott? After all, it's not as if Noah is anything more than a friend….
But my new life takes a disturbing turn when Harris brings me to a party and we play a game called One Hundred Candles. It seems like harmless, ghostly fun. Until spirits unleashed by the game start showing up at school. Now my friends and family are in very real danger, and the door that I've opened into another realm may yield deadly consequences.
A fast read with a cool backstory, I love that she ghost hunts with her family, and she seems to enjoy it.. well minus the mishaps that keep happening.
Charlotte is a like-able character that has a different lifestyle than most that read about in current books, a nice change. Not only does she have the weird ghost hunting parents that make her weird and somewhat famous, but she seems to have the ever popular best friend that completes the story line.
There are two romances in this book, one that starts building from the beginning or atleast seems to be to me. And then the main relathionship in the book, which turns out all wrong just in time for her to learn and state her true feelings to boy 1. I love it... such a sweet tender moment when that happens.
Overall a quick enjoyable read that I would recommend.
