Review- Real Live Boyfriends

Real Live Boyfriends
by E. Lockhart

Ruby Oliver, the neurotic, hyperverbal heroine of the The Boyfriend List, The Boy Book, and The Treasure Map of Boys, is back!

Ruby Oliver is in love. Or it would be love, if Noel, her real live boyfriend, would call her back. But Noel seems to have turned into a pod-robot lobotomy patient, and Ruby can’t figure out why.

Not only is her romantic life a shambles:
Her dad is eating nothing but Cheetos,
Her mother’s got a piglet head in the refrigerator,
Hutch has gone to Paris to play baguette air guitar,
Gideon shows up shirtless,
And the pygmy goat Robespierre is no help whatsoever.

Will Ruby ever control her panic attacks?
Will she ever understand boys?
Will she ever stop making lists?
(No to that last one.)

Roo has lost most of her friends. She’s lost her true love, more than once. She’s lost her grandmother, her job, her reputation, and possibly her mind. But she’s never lost her sense of humor. The Ruby Oliver books are the record of her survival.

My Review
A very cute simple read, for those of you who are really looking for a quick read. I read this book on our last road trip, well on the way there. In about approximately two hours.

Roo was a great character that you very much feel something for. Witty, Charming and hilarious read. One I would recommend to anyone into YA books or a quick humorous read.

Review- The Power of The Blue Medallion

The Power of The Blue Medallion
by Les Berman

Product Description

This Captivating novel follows the wild adventures of three charismatic young aliens from the distant planet Hebutar, and their companion on Earth. Zytor, the son of the ruler of Hebutar, is determined to stop a group of terrorists from causing chaos in the United States. Against his father’s wishes, Zytor travels to Earth and meets a young girl, Tandy, whose father was killed by terrorists. Zytor’s sister Phelena, a Captain in
the Hebutarian Military and a fellow soldier, are dispatched by her father to bring Zytor back to Hebutar before he mingles into the affairs of Planet
Earth. While tracking down the terrorist, Zytor gets his medallion stolen (a powerful weapon), forcing him to team up with his sister and devise plans to retrieve the medallion, and help authorities stop the evil terrorists from executing a terrible attack in Washington D.C.

My Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was well written and fully descriptive, you felt the emotions of each and every character as they were well and fully described in this book. Mr. Berman did a wonderful job writing out the story and it was fully completed. I was sent this book for a review through Pump up your book tours.

In summary I would recommend this book to those looking for a quick read that catches your attention.

Review- Perfect Chemistry

Perfect Chemistry
by Simone Elkeles
  • Reading level: Young Adult
  • Paperback: 368 pages
  • Publisher: Walker Books for Young Readers (December 23, 2008)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 0802798225
  • ISBN-13: 978-0802798220
A fresh, urban twist on the classic tale of star-crossed lovers.
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created “perfect” life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she's worked so hard for—her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect. Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.

In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.

My Review:  This book didnt catch me from page one unfortunately, seems a lot has lately. However, after reading into the book some and meeting both Alex and Brittany I fell in love with both characters, and how similar the way they were living there lives. It was a fantastic written engaging story that made you feel as if you were there living the situation.

You find a friend in Brittany as you learn her story and her life unfolds from her parents, to her sister and her friends. Alex has a tough life, as the man of the house and trying to keep it all together for his mother and brothers.

A recommended read, and I am very much looking forward to reading the next in the story Rules of Attraction.
