Review- Forget You

Forget You
by Jennifer Echols

  • Reading level: Young Adult
  • Paperback: 304 pages
  • Publisher: MTV; Original edition (July 20, 2010)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 1439178232
  • ISBN-13: 978-1439178232
Description:
WHY CAN’T YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU FORGET . . .  AND WHAT YOU REMEMBER?  There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four- year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon.  But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people— suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.

My Review:
Wow, this book was an amazing read, one that i read from start to finish without putting it down. Jennifer did a amazing job with the character's there back stories, they were all so lovable.

I very much enjoyed the relationship that blossomed throughout this book with Zoey and Doug, much better than the one with Brandon.  Great story, one that I will certainly reread on a rainy day. Recommended to all for a great quick read.

Review Demon Princess (double review)

Double Review
Demon Princess: Reign or Shine
Demon Princess: Reign Check
 by Michelle Rowen
As if trying to fit in at a new school isn't stressful enough, sixteen-year-old Nikki Donovan just found out that her long-lost father is, in fact, the demon king of the Shadowlands—the world that separates and protects us from the Underworld. When she is brought there by the mysterious—and surprisingly cute—messenger Michael, she learns that her father is dying, and he wants her to assume the throne. To complicate matters, a war is brewing between the Shadowlands and the Underworld, her half-demon qualities are manifesting, and her growing feelings for Michael are completely forbidden. Ruling a kingdom, navigating a secret crush, and still making it home by curfew—what's a teenage demon princess to do?

Fresh from finding out she is a demon princess and meeting her father for the first time, Nikki Donovan is looking forward to getting back to her regular high school life. But then Rhys, the handsome teenage king of the faery realm, enrolls at her school as a "foreign exchange student." Her conflicted feelings for Rhys and her boyfriend are getting in the way of her new relationship with the Shadow-creature Michael. But this love triangle from hell isn't even Nikki's biggest problem: There's a new prophecy that claims she will destroy all the demon and human worlds. Her best friend Melinda just might be a demon-slayer-in-training. Throw in a field trip to none other than the Underworld itself . . . and Nikki's going to be hoping for a rain check on more than just her homework!

My Review Reign or Shine: I can honestly say reading this book from beginning to end, I did not like it... it left me feeling like there was so much that wasn't told and it was incomplete. I didn't feel much of a connection with any of the characters and really was left feeling let down.
My Review Reign Check: I wasn't sure if i wanted to continue reading after the first novel, however, this book truly made up for the lack in the first book, and looking back on it now, it seems as if the first book was more of a cushion... a book that told some but left you wantin to know more.. .which the second book definitely added.

Michelle has done an amazing job writing this series out and I honestly can say I hope the series continues, it was absolutely a nicely written story and enjoyable in many ways.

Another Recreate A Cover Contest

Review- A Match Made In High School

A Match Made In High School
by Kristin Walker
  • Reading level: Young Adult
  • Paperback: 288 pages
  • Publisher: Razorbill (February 4, 2010)
  • Language: English
  • ISBN-10: 1595142576
  • ISBN-13: 978-1595142573

Synopsis: When the principal announces that every senior must participate in a mandatory year-long Marriage Education program, Fiona Sheehan believes that her life can’t get any worse. Then she marries her “husband”: jerky jock Todd, whose cheerleader girlfriend, Amanda, has had it in for Fiona since day one of second grade. Even worse? Amanda is paired with Fiona’s long-term crush, Gabe. At least Fiona is doing better than her best friend, Marcie, who is paired up with the very quiet, very mysterious Johnny Mercer.
Pranks, fights, misunderstandings, and reconciliations ensue in an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors about mistaken first impressions, convoluted coupling, and hidden crushes.

My Review:
This was an incredibly cute book. Fiona is a extremely lovable character that draws you right into her "horrible" luck. Then you start meeting the other characters Such as jock & cheerleader super couple todd and Amanda. Fiona's best friend Marcie and the extremely lovable quiet character Johnny.  As well as the "crush" Gabe, who she learns is not quite as crush worthy as she thought.   All in all it was a great book as you watch the character development through the book, with some major twists and turns that you don't expect.
