Feature Friday - Fragments of Life

This week I have the pleasure to share with you an amazing new blogger, Precious the Owner of Fragments of Life

She has an adorable theme of Angels throughout her blog, which if you know me struck an interest in me immediately as I am a huge fan of Angels and Fairies.
She agreed to take some time and stop to chat with us, so we could learn more about her blog. Be sure you check out her blog after reading the post.
1.        When and How did you come up with the ideas for Fragments of Life?
I actually started Fragments of Life with the purpose of posting my creative work here. But that didn’t work for me. It turns out publishing my creative work in a blog will disqualify me from the writing contests that I joined. So, I stopped. In December, I stumbled upon the YA book blogging community here. And it’s so alive! And I wanted to be a part of it. One day, a thought popped in my head: Since I’m spending almost all my money on books and I’m devoting a huge chunk of my time on reading, why not start making book reviews? And I did! My bookish friend, Brodie, gave me the final push to start the blog officially. In our conversations in Twitter, we talked about starting a blog together. We talked about interviews, reviews, features and Memes. Unfortunately, due to some situations, we weren’t able to collaborate. But she still encouraged me. And I really appreciated that! And then, ta-da! Fragments of Life was reborn.
2.      What made you start blogging about books?
These are the things that made me start blogging about books:
    • Brodie’s encouraging words
    • The fact that I love love love reading YA novels, to the point that I would rummage through the bookstore before I go home and I would starve myself to buy books. LOL. Well, I didn’t starve myself but I save money for it.
    • My desire to blog about a book, highlighting not only the story and the characters but also the lessons within the pages.

3.      I love your Angel Meme, How did this idea start?
Thank you! Well, I figured that since I’m really really fascinated by angels. Okay. I’m a little…obsessed? It’s highly possible that I would read lots of angel novels. Given that probability, I thought of starting a Meme about angels. I haven’t encountered any Memes that featured angels and I think it’s time that they are given attention.
4.     What is your favorite part of blogging?
My favorite parts of blogging are posting a review that accomplishes my goal to share about lessons in YA books, interviewing authors and getting comments from my readers and seeing that they appreciate my work.
5.      What is your least favorite part of blogging?
Hmm…the pressure? I write a lot. I have two creative writing classes in school that demand creative works almost on a weekly basis. I’m writing the draft of my soon-to-be-novel. I’m writing a short story that I can possibly use in the future. I’m writing a collection of poems for the most prestigious national writing contest here in my country. And sometimes when I try to write a review, it’s like I’m out of juice. It’s like I’m staring at the screen, thinking about the scenes in the novel, the characters, knowing the feelings but I couldn’t bring my fingers to type the review. I couldn’t fully process it at the moment. It only happened once. I’m hoping it won’t happen again. But it’s bound to occur.
6.      What have you found to be the hardest part of blogging?
Hardest part? Well, the hardest part for me is rushing a review.
7.     You Have a lot of great Meme’s Tell us about them
I’m starting lots of Memes for my blog because I want to be unique. At least as unique as I’m capable of.
Fast Forward Monday is inspired by Waiting on Wednesday. But I limited the books that will be featured there to books that will come out in a matter of three months. Why three months? So that the readers won’t forget about the book and that they will look forward to grabbing a copy since the wait is short.
Writing on Tuesday is basically a feature in which authors talk about their writing matters and writing experiences. I noticed that there are LOTS aspiring writers in this community and that includes me. So why not start a Meme that can help and inspire them? Plus, it’s also a way of getting to know the authors.
Spotted features authors and their books, mostly debut authors. I interview them about their novel, their purpose and I even included questions regarding how certain factors affected their writing. I’m so curious to know.
Angelic Friday is a Meme wherein I review novels that explore the lives of angels, Nephilims and fallen angels.
Heavenly Saturday features verses from the Bible that can spark inspirations within our lives. I know that this may seem like a post to be disregarded to other people, but to me it’s not. I believe that HE is real. If he isn’t, I probably wouldn’t be where I am today.
 8. Any thing else you would like to add?
